About Bernhard Moos Elementary Moos Elementary has been a staple of the Humboldt Park and Logan Square communities for the last 125 years. The school community at Moos is centered around engaging academics and positive social emotional development. Our robust programming includes Dual Language and International Baccalaureate, an inspiring arts program including Visual Art, General Music, Concert and Jazz Band, All-City Band, and African Drumming, school-wide language electives in Spanish and Mandarin, school garden program, year round sports and Out of School Time afterschool programming. As a Dual Language and International Baccalaureate (IB) school, we believe in promoting bilingualism and biliteracy as the norm for our 440 pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students and their families. Our Diverse Learners are supported in the general education program through our inclusive practices so that children with varying gifts all learn together. We embrace our diverse cultures and backgrounds as a means of connecting globally within our world. IB is a program that challenges students to excel in both their academic and personal growth. Our goal is to teach students to be internationally minded through instruction that allows them to think critically and creatively about the content they are presented and how it relates to the world around them.
